My Fire Project focuses on the impact we have on one another and how it’s connected to poverty. My Fire Project covers imperialism in the modern age. Most people think of this issue as something from the 18th and 19th century, but it still goes on today. People suffer because of others and their greedy intentions. In my opinion a big part coming from the fight for resources such as petroleum, water, and land.
We hear about people in need all the time, at school, on TV, on the internet, in the news, yet not a lot of people know how to help or where to start. It really saddens and angers me to see that innocent people are suffering on account of other people's actions. It's unfair. We see people so helpless, unable to speak up for what they need. Sometimes we even see that people are taking advantage of that weakness for their own benefit.
I've never really faced something such as poverty. We've struggle with money here and there, but nothing too drastic. I think something else that caught my eye about this issue is the stories my parents would tell me about how hard it was to survive on their own, how hard they had to work to eat, have a home, and keep going. We see these types of stories around and they really make you realize what's going on in the world. We see how people are living in horrible conditions and are often exploited for greedy people's benefits. I always wished I could have been able to do something for them. Even with these challenges we can still impact the life of some stranger in need. Poverty and inequality are things that are spread out worldwide. It would be of some importance to others because they might be able to relate to these issues or just open their eyes to the conditions those people are living in and realize that there is something they can do to help. This issue matters because regardless of physical differences, people are people. We should help one another when we see that people are in need. We shouldn't just ignore the fact that there are people out there dying because they don't have enough food or water because they don't have money or resources that are taken from them.
